If the operator fails, then the ATOL scheme makes sure that customers don’t lose their money or find themselves stranded abroad.

Can I cancel my holiday with Hays Travel?
If you cancel or amend your booking the supplier may charge the cancellation or amendment charge shown in their booking conditions (which may be 100% of the cost of the travel arrangements). We may collect this on their behalf and you also must pay us any applicable administration charges.
Can you cancel a holiday and get your money back?
You can cancel your holiday without having to pay a fee. You’ll get a full refund but won’t be entitled to any compensation. The exceptional circumstances must be at or near your destination.
Can you change holiday once booked?
Yes, you can amend your booking. However you’ll usually need to pay an amendment fee for each person named on the booking and for every booking detail which you change. Please refer to our booking terms and conditions for more information and charges.
